WHO Record Spike In Global COVID-19 Cases For Second Day In A Row

The World Health Organisation (WHO) reported a record spike in the global Coronavirus cases for the second day in a row, with a total of 259,848 cases in 24 hours.


The biggest increases were in the U.S. (71,484), Brazil (45,403), India (34,884) and South Africa (13,373) on Saturday.
The previous WHO record for new cases was 237,743 on Friday.
The single-day COVID-19 death toll also rose to 7,360 fatalities – a record high on Saturday.
Globally the total Coronavirus cases surpassed 14 million and nearly 600,000 people have died of the virus.
