U.S House of Representatives Demand Afghan ‘Women Protection’
In a letter to President Ghani and President Abdullah Abdullah, the House’s Foreign Affairs Committee expressed concerns about the safety of Afghan women.
The letter told, President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani and High Council for National reconciliation Leader, Abdullah Abdullah, that the violence against prominent Afghan women, mothers, daughters, and sisters is continuing, and the ferocity needs to be stopped.
“The presence of women in the Afghan government’s negotiating team in peace talks is a positive step, but it must also be acknowledged that women can play an important role in Afghanistan’s future,” the letter reportedly said.
