APL Championship: Shaheen Asmayee vs. Simrogh Alborz
Shaheen Asmayee will face Simrogh Alborz for the championship match of the Afghan Premier League on Friday.

The match will kick off at 5pm local time at Afghanistan’s Football Federation’s stadium in Kabul.  
“Simrogh is a good time and is strong, but I am lucky to have a team like Shaheen Asmayee,” said the head coach of Shaheen Asmayee, Elias Manoochehr, at a pre-match press conference on Thursday, said: “So far we have had good results and we reached the finals. We hope to have a good match tomorrow.” 
“We will bring some tactical changes to our system in the final match to beat Simrogh Alborz,” he said. 
Shaheen Asmayee has reached the finals in the last two seasons but lost both times. This time, however, the captain of the team said they will "not let the cup slip away.” 
“We are focusing on the final match and all the boys are ready and will not let that the cup once again slip away,” he said. 
Shaheen Asmayee, De Maiwand Atalan, Toofan Harirod, Simorgh Alborz, Mawjhai Amu, De Spinghar Bazan, De Abasin Sape, and Oqaban Hindukush are the eight APL teams representing all 34 provinces in Afghanistan. 
Last year, Toofan Harirod from the west zone won the league title. Toofan Harirod has won the title three times. 
Last year's champions Toofan Harirod lost to Simorgh Alborz in the semifinals on Tuesday night. 
The match was almost equal in terms of attempts on goal for both teams. 
The first half ended without any goals but in the second half there were many attempts and two goals for Simorgh Alborz football club, which represents northern Afghanistan. 
This was the first time that Simorgh Alborz has defeated Toofan Harirod in the nine times they have faced off. 
The APL was launched eight years ago, and the series begins with regional selection tournaments in various areas of the country, and then ends with eighteen national league matches in Kabul.  
Friday’s match will be broadcast live on TOLO and Lemar TV at 5 pm, Afghanistan time.
