U.S. Defies Taliban Claim of Violating February Accord
KABUL, Afghanistan – Colonel Sonny Leggett, spokesman for United States Forces in Afghanistan, once again denied the Taliban claim of violating February accord, after the group blamed US over airstrike in Nerkh, Wardak and killing innocent Afghans.

It is the second time the Taliban accused US for violating the agreement, but the American officials repeatedly denied violation.
“USFOR-A conducted a targeted strike in Nerkh, Wardak last night- in defense of the ANDSF and in accordance with the U.S.-TB Agreement- killing 5 Taliban fighters,” said Leggett in a tweet. “We reject the allegations of violating the agreement and of killing innocent Afghans.”
Remark came at a time the Taliban hold US responsible for killing innocent Afghans and repeatedly violating the agreement signed between the two in February in Doha.
“In recurrent violation of the Doha agreement, American invaders carried out a drone strike in Durrani area of Nerkh district #Wardak dusk time Sun. resulting in 3 innocent children martyred,” Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid said in a tweet.
Last week, the Taliban has accused the United States troops still in Afghanistan of repeatedly violating the peace deal signed between the two sides in Doha in February, warning Washington must shoulder the blame for subsequent violence.

“In recent days, the United States forces conducted day-and-night airstrikes in Nahri Saraj, Khoshkawa, Babaji of Helmand province, including areas in Gereshk, Sangin, Nawa and Nad Ali districts,” said the Taliban spokesman Qari Mohammad Yousof Ahmadi, in a statement. “Also [airstrikes] in Farah and other provinces, which is a clear violation of the Doha agreement.”
