Aid to South Victims Should be Delivere in Coordination with ARCS

Mullah Nooruddin Torabi called on national and international humanitarian organizations to deliver aid to earthquake victims in Paktika and Khost provinces in coordination with the Afghan Red Crescent Society.


Afghan Voice Agency()_Monitoring, Mullah Nooruddin Torabi, deputy director of the Afghan Red Crescent Society, told a news conference in Kabul that “they had dispatched 55 teams from different provinces to Paktika and Khost for surveillance to accurately identify affected families and curb corruption and negligence in the aid distribution process.

Torabi says accept neighbors and countries around the world delivered aid to earthquake victims, but that is not enough, adding more aid is needed to address the situation of victims.

“We need to establish shelters, clinics, and schools for suffered ones in the site where the incident took place,” he added.

Torabi said that mobile clinics have been set up in the quake-hit areas to treat the wounded, and main permanent health centers will be built after the survey.

He assured that any injustice or negligence would be curbed during the aid distribution process through the Afghan Red Crescent Society.

Last week a deadly earthquake in Paktika and Khost provinces killed at least 1,200 people and injured more than 2,000 others, some neighboring countries and the region, as well as a number of national and international aid agencies, delivered aid to the quake-hit areas, and some other countries and organizations have pledged to assist the families who suffered a lot from the tragic quake.

Torabi, says, to distribute the aid among victims in a transparent manner all domestic and international humanitarian organizations must collaborate with the Afghan Red Crescent Society to curb injustices and negligence.
