Afghan coal will be sold at the world price
Two days after Pakistani officail threatened to stop importing coal from Afghanistan due to its high price, the Ministry of Mines and Petroleum has now said that it will export Afghan coal at international rates.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): Ismatullah Burhan, the spokesman of the Ministry of Mines and Petroleum, said that the Islamic Emirate wants to export Afghan coal at the world price.

Burhan added: Each ton of coal in the world market is about 350 dollars and the Islamic Emirate plans to export Afghan coal at international rates.

The spokesman of the Ministry of Mines and Petroleum has added that the caretaker government has not signed any agreement on the export of coal with any foreign country.

Burhan has stated that so far 80 coal mines have been identified across the country and currently only 17 mines are being mined.

The spokesperson of the Ministry of Mines and Petroleum also added that local companies extract nearly ten thousand tons of coal from these 17 operational fields of the country.

This is despite the fact that a few days ago, the Chinese company of Pakistan's power generation plant has threatened to stop importing coal if the price of coal imported from Afghanistan does not decrease.

It should be mentioned that following Russia's invasion of Ukraine and the increase in energy prices in the world markets, the price of oil and fuel has increased sharply.
