UAE: We continue to export sustainable energy

14 Jul 2022 - 10:27

Abu Dhabi will remain a "reliable" supplier of energy, the UAE president said.

Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): In a situation where the oil market is tense, the President of the United Arab Emirates, Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, announced on Wednesday in his first speech as the country's president that his country will remain a "reliable" supplier of energy.

According to the AFP news agency, Muhammad bin Zayed's first televised speech was given in a situation where US President Joe Biden started a periodic trip to the Middle East from occupied Palestine on Wednesday and is going to continue to Saudi Arabia. There, he is going to request that this oil-rich country opens its oil gates to calm down the jump in crude oil prices and inflation.

Mohammed bin Zayed, whose country is one of the main exporters of OPEC oil, said: "We continue to strengthen the country's position as a reliable supplier of energy and a supporter of energy security in the world."

The president of the UAE described energy as the "backbone of economic growth and development".

Oil prices have increased due to the war in Ukraine, which began in February with Russia's invasion of the country, fueling unbridled inflation in the world.

OPEC Plus, consisting of members of the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) and other partners, of which the United Arab Emirates is a member, in May 2022 began a strategy of gradually increasing the total volume of production, which had been deliberately kept low since the peak of the coronavirus pandemic.

Europeans and Americans are trying to convince the Persian Gulf countries, especially Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, to increase their production.
