Covid-19 vaccination in Nangarhar, Takhar
Health officials have launched Covid-19 vaccination drives in eastern Nangarhar.

The pandemic continues to threaten human lives, with medical experts having failed to find proper anti-Covid-19 medicine.

Nangarhar vaccination drive

Nangarhar Public Health Director Dr. Ameer Mohammad Aftab said 2.3 million people would be administered Covid-19 vaccine during this campaign.

He added the campaign was launched on Saturday at the Zonal Hospital, with 84 teams tasked with administering the vaccine to people in Jalalabad and 22 districts in a month.

He said: “Covid-19 has been eliminated from Nangarhar. After implementation of the month-long drive, Nangarhar will be declared a Covid-19 free province.”

Senior health official Dr. Hukam Khan Gulabzai called the coronavirus a dangerous virus. Families’ refusal to take the vaccine would pose a threat to the entire province, he warned.

Noor Ajan, a resident of Jalalabad’s 3rd police district, welcomed the launch of the vaccination drive in Nangarhar.

However, he alleged Covid-19 doses were administered to individuals having relations with health officials.
“Earlier, when Covid-19 vaccination was launched, some individuals who did not have the right connections were unable to get the vaccine easily.”

But the Public Health Department says the Covid-19 vaccination campaign wikk cover all citizens.

Campaign in Takhar

Takhar Public Health Director Dr. Hidayatullah Ghafoori said a Covid-19 vaccination drive had been launched in the province to prevent the resurgence of the pandemic.

He said 40 percent of people, who were not vaccinated in the past, would be be administered the vaccine during the current campaign.

Noor-ul-Haq, a resident of Taloqan, the provincial capital, welcomed the launch of the vaccination drive. He urged all citizens to get vaccinated.

He claimed that he and his family were strictly observing Covid-19 precautions to ensure they stayed safe from the virus.
