Bilawal called for Tehran-Islamabad coordination on refugee management
Pakistan has underlined the imperative of close cooperation with Iran on issues related to Afghanistan.
Afghan Voice Agency(AVA)_Monitoring, Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari called for Tehran-Islamabad coordination on refugee management, regional security and institutional mechanisms.

At a meeting with Iran’s Special Representative Hassan Kazemi Ghomi in Islamabad on Friday, he renewed Pakistan’s commitment to a peaceful, stable and prosperous Afghanistan.

The minister referred to Pakistan’s provision of humanitarian assistance to Afghanistan, including relief for survivors of last month’s earthquake in eastern Afghanistan.

Continued constructive engagement and practical cooperation with the interim Afghan government was necessary to promote the objective of lasting peace and security in the region, he believed.

The Iranian diplomat commended what he called Pakistan’s constructive role in bringing stability to Afghanistan.
The visiting envoy also met his Pakistani counterpart Mohammad Sadiq, with both sides discussing the evolving situation in Afghanistan.

The two sides highlighted the importance of pursuing practical engagement. They also conferred on regional trade and connectivity initiatives.
