Afghan refugees protest against ten years of misery in Indonesia
Afghan refugees living in the city of Surabaya, Indonesia, protested against Australia not paying attention to their asylum request.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): Afghan refugees living in the city of Surabaya, Indonesia, marched today Tuesday (August 2) in protest of their misfortune and Australia's lack of attention to their asylum requests.

They gathered in front of the Australian consulate in Surabaya and protested because their demands were not paid attention to.

These asylum seekers have asked the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees and related institutions to end their misery.

These asylum seekers want to settle in Australia or one of the immigration countries.

For more than a decade, a large number of mostly Afghan refugees who left Afghanistan to reach Australia have been stuck in Indonesia.

In these years, a number of these asylum seekers have committed suicide due to frustration in reaching the desired country and mental problems.

It should be noted that several thousand refugees, most of whom are Afghans, have been living in limbo and uncertainty in Indonesia for more than 10 years.
