Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council: The price of gas in Europe will reach 5 thousand euros
The deputy head of the Russian Security Council has said that the price of gas in Europe will increase to 5 thousand euros by the end of this year.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): Dmitry Medvedev, Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council, wrote on his Telegram channel that he predicts; the price of gas in Europe will increase to 5 thousand euros per thousand cubic meters in the next few months.

Medvedev has written to the heads of states and governments of the European Union that the price of gas has increased to 3,500 euros per thousand cubic meters, but I must say that my prediction is that the price will increase to 5,000 euros by the end of 2022, with full of respect

Following the start of Russia's military operations in Ukraine, the West and European countries imposed extensive sanctions against Russian oil and gas, and also the energy ministers of the European Union countries committed to an agreement on August 4 to reduce dependence on Russian fuel and energy from August 2022 to March. 2023, to reduce their gas consumption and, as a result, gas imports from Russia by 15%.

The Russian energy giant (Gazprom) also announced in a countermeasure that it has reduced gas exports to Europe by 20% of its production capacity. With this reduction in supply, the export of Russian gas to Europe through Nord Stream lines has decreased to 31 million cubic meters per day or nearly 20% of the production capacity.

At the end of August, Gazprom announced that the continued decrease in Russian energy exports to European countries, amidst the sanctions imposed against Moscow, will increase the price of gas in Europe by 60%.
