Mawlawi Attaullah Omari Visit Herat
Acting Minister of Agriculture, Irrigation and Livestock, visited Herat. The purpose of his trip to Herat is to try to strengthen agriculture and animal husbandry.
Afghan Voice Agency(AVA)_Monitoring, Minister Omari told BNA on his visit to Herat that the ministry has long-term plans to strengthen agriculture and livestock and also create jobs opportunities for the youth, and they want to export Herat’s products, especially saffron, to foreign countries.

Meanwhile, Mawlawi Peer Mohammad Haleemi, head of the Department of Agriculture, Irrigation and Livestock of the province, says that they are striving to establish cold storages on that province so that farmers can store their products.

Haleemi adds that this year they have received more than 150 million Afghanis, and about 500,000 acres of land that was usurped in the past has been reclaimed due to the efforts of the commission to fight and prevent land usurpation.

However, the farmers of Herat province want the attention of the Ministry of Agriculture to this province. Eid Mohammad, one of the farmers, says that they need improved seeds and chemical fertilizers, and they want standard cold storage facilities to be established in this province to preserve agricultural products.

Minister Omari says that according to the order of supreme leader, he is going to check all the dams and aqueducts in the country and if necessary, aqueducts will be created in Herat.
