30% increase in almond products in Samangan; One billion income of farmers
Officials of the Agriculture and Livestock Department of Samangan province say that the almond products of this province have increased by 30% compared to last year and the farmers of this province earn more than 1 billion afghanis from its sale.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Mazar-e-Sharif: Najibullah Joya, director of fruit and vegetable promotion of Samangan Agriculture and Livestock Department, told AVA today, Thursday September 29, 2022, that the officials of this department visited the gardens all over the province in the past days, as a result of this Investigations revealed that Samangan almond products have increased by 30% compared to last year.
 
According to Joya, based on their calculations, gardeners will earn more than 1,138,000,000 Afghani this year by selling almonds in this province.
 
He added that more than 4880 hectares of land in the center and districts of Hazrat Sultan and Khorramsar of this province are almond orchards.
 
Meanwhile, dry fruit traders in Samangan are also satisfied with the increase in yield and good market.
 
According to traders, 40% of Samangan almonds are sold inside the country and 60% of them are transported by traders and companies abroad, including India, Pakistan, and the United Arab Emirates.
 
At present, a kilogram of almonds in Aybak city is sold from 150 to 650 Afghani under the names of Sattarbai, Khairaldini, Shakurbai, Qanbari, Maruji, Todabi, Kagazi and Sangak, the most excellent of which is Sattarbai.
 
Meanwhile, the culture of gardening in Samangan province has now become a healthy competition among the farmers, and today, in addition to irrigated lands, even in alluvial lands, the residents of this province plant almond seedlings.
