Approval of a resolution on the situation of Afghanistan in the General Assembly of the United Nations / from emphasizing the formation of a comprehensive government to supporting refugee-seeking countries
Yesterday, the United Nations General Assembly approved a resolution on the situation in Afghanistan with 116 positive votes. Speakers in the Manatara meeting regarding the approval of this resolution emphasized the need for an inclusive political process based on the constitution, as well as respecting the rights of various ethnic groups and women and girls, as well as supporting countries that are facing the influx of Afghan refugees.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): By explaining the current humanitarian situation in Afghanistan, this resolution pays attention to the political areas related to human rights, security, terrorism, the fight against drugs, refugees and the socio-economic situation of the country.

The countries of Russia, China, Pakistan, Nicaragua, Burundi, Belarus, Guinea, Ethiopia, Zimbabwe and North Korea abstained from this resolution, which was presented by Germany to the UN General Assembly.

This resolution also emphasized the need to support countries that are facing a large wave of Afghan refugees.

This resolution also asks the authorities of the Islamic Emirate to adhere to the international and bilateral commitments of Afghanistan and to take steps towards promoting the observance of human rights and forming an inclusive government.

The mentioned resolution condemns the terrorist acts against educational and religious centers of ethnic and religious minorities and diplomatic places and criticizes the violation of human rights and deprivation of women and girls in Afghanistan.

European Union Ambassador to the United Nations, Olof Skoog, said in the debate meeting about the adoption of this resolution in the United Nations Assembly that the European Union will stand by the people of Afghanistan and will remain committed to stability, prosperity and sustainable peace in Afghanistan. Skoog added in this meeting: "This requires an inclusive political process with the full, equal and meaningful participation of all Afghans, including all ethnic groups, religious minorities, and the meaningful participation of women in decision-making."

At the same time, Vassily Nebenzia, the permanent representative of Russia to the United Nations, criticized their approach by stating that the fate of ordinary Afghans who do not have the basic facilities of life is the last concern for the Westerners and said: We are disappointed with the show. The reluctance of some Western colleagues to even mention the role of regional organizations such as the Shanghai Collective Security Treaty and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, as well as considering the proposals of regional countries to promote socio-economic improvement and subsequent development, is incorrect.

Also, Amir Saeed Irwani, Ambassador and Permanent Representative of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the United Nations, in the review meeting of this resolution, said that the current dire humanitarian and political situation in Afghanistan is a sign of the effects of the military intervention of foreign forces under the pretext of fighting terrorism and establishing peace and democracy in the countries. He also read that while defaming these lofty common human ideas, countries and nations are faced with endless dangers.

He called the current situation in Afghanistan a responsibility and obligations for foreign forces and stated: Iran emphasizes the necessity of investigating the war crimes committed by the occupying forces in the past and currently stopped due to the political pressure of countries.

He stated: Afghanistan's future depends on the implementation of the constitution and commitment to it in order to ensure participation and respect for the rights of all ethnic groups, religions and women and girls.

Irwani stated: In a pluralistic society like Afghanistan, one group and party alone will never be able to control the country. According to him, ensuring the establishment of an inclusive government based on the constitution is the main element in the international recognition of Afghanistan's future sovereignty.

The Permanent Representative of Iran, while expressing concern over the continuation of the threat of terrorism and foreign fighters, condemned the terrorist acts against educational and diplomatic centers and religious and ethnic minorities and stated: The world must be sure that the land of Afghanistan is a safe haven for terrorist groups such as ISIS and Al-Qaeda and There will be no affiliated groups.

It is worth mentioning that the above resolution was presented to the United Nations General Assembly for the first time after the Islamic Emirate's rule over Afghanistan.
