The fifth joint economic meeting of Herat and Khorasan Razavi delegations was held today Tuesday in Herat province to improve the facilities in business affairs between the two countries.

Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Herat: Hamidullah Mutawakkul, the spokesperson of Herat governor, told reporters in this meeting: The purpose of this meeting is to exchange trade and resolve commercial challenges between the two countries.
He added: In this meeting, four issues of transportation, agriculture, industry and trade, and fuel will be discussed.
According to the spokesperson of Herat governor, the Herat-Khaf railway line will also be discussed in this meeting.
On the other hand, Hamidullah Khadim, head of Herat Chamber of Industries and Mines, said: The railway line is of great importance for Afghanistan from an economic point of view.
He emphasized: Due to the lack of a railway line in the country, Afghanistan pays the most money in the transportation sector.
Khadim pointed out: The railway line that entered Herat from Iran must be developed and if it remains in this state, it will not be of any benefit to the country.
Also, Abdullah Dashti, the deputy of service of Herat Chamber of Commerce and Investment, said: In the last four meetings between the economic delegations of the two countries, the problem of traders has not been resolved and unfortunately these challenges still exist.
He expressed his hope that the challenges and problems faced by the businessmen will be resolved in the current government and in this meeting.
Meanwhile, Amir Reza Rajabi, Director General of Khorasan Razavi Department of Industry and Trade said: Herat Chamber of Industry and Commerce asked us to cooperate in the machinery and engineering department of the Chamber of Industry and Mines of this province.
Mr. Rajabi added: This demand of the Herat Chamber of Industry and Mines has been welcomed by them and the Islamic Republic of Iran is ready to cooperate in this field.
He said: Also, in this meeting, Herat businessmen asked the delegation of the Islamic Republic to cooperate with the businessmen in the sector of transportation to third countries so that they can do business more easily.
It should be mentioned that today's meeting among the economic delegations of the two countries discussed the work of different groups and the result will be announced tomorrow, Wednesday.
