Russia's withdrawal from Ukraine is a prerequisite for Kiev's consultation with Moscow

5 Dec 2022 - 13:57

The adviser of the president of Ukraine has considered the withdrawal of Russia from the territory of his country as a precondition for negotiations with Moscow.

Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): Mykhailo Podoliak, advisor to Ukrainian President Volodymir Zelensky, added: Russia must leave Ukraine and after that, we will be ready to talk.

The adviser to the president of Ukraine also said that setting a ceiling for the price of Russian oil is the first positive step; Because it deprives Moscow of financing the war.

The Group of Seven decided on Friday to set a price ceiling for Russian crude oil at $60 a barrel, ending months of talks over the new move, which was aimed at hitting Moscow's main source of income.

The price limit for Russian oil by sea will be effective from today, Monday, December 5, or in the following days for the price cap coalition, including Australia and members of the Group of 7 and the European Union.

In response to this decision, the spokesman of the Kremlin announced that his country will not accept the possible ceiling set by Western countries for Russian oil.

Dmitry Peskov stressed: We are evaluating the situation. Special preparations have been made for such a roof. We do not accept price caps and will let you know how the work will be organized once the assessment is complete.

According to him, Europe should spend the next year without Russian oil.
