Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): Participants in a meeting hosted by the Organization of Islamic Cooperation regarding Afghanistan, which was held yesterday (Wednesday, January 11, 2023) in Jeddah, the capital of Saudi Arabia, decided to suspend the education and work of women in domestic non-governmental organizations and they have called foreigners in Afghanistan a violation of Islamic laws and purposes.
The final declaration of this meeting emphasized the right to education without discrimination and asked the current Afghan authorities to adhere to the principles and goals of the United Nations Charter, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation Charter and their commitments.
This declaration also warned about the deterioration of the situation in Afghanistan and emphasized the development assistance of the international community in order to improve the lives of the people.
However, Hussain Ibrahim Taha, the Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, announced at the meeting of the Executive Committee of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation that the second team of scholars will be sent to Afghanistan and said that this team of scholars will consult with the authorities of the Islamic Emirate regarding the exclusion of women from education and work.
Meanwhile, a delegation of religious scholars from some countries who came to Kabul said that the caretaker government officials have assured them that they will provide education for all Afghan citizens after solving the existing problems.
Mohammad al-Sagheer, Secretary General of the International Assembly for the Support of the Prophet of Islam and a member of this board, said in a meeting in Kabul on Tuesday January 10th: In the meeting we had with the senior officials of the Islamic Emirate, they emphasized education and committing to education is the inalienable right of every person in this country.
He added that there is no difference in this regard. Efforts are underway to resolve this issue as soon as possible.
The Islamic Emirate has also said that efforts are being made to create a suitable environment for the education and work of women in the light of Islamic laws.
