Experts: Pakistan is trying to maintain its relations with the Islamic Emirate and stop violence

24 Jan 2023 - 9:28

Political experts say; the government of Pakistan is trying to maintain its relations with the Islamic Emirate and stop violence, because this country needs a government in Asia, especially in South Asia, that supports Pakistan's policies in the region and the world and is in line with the policies of this country.

Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Kabul: These statements of political experts are raised while a month ago, Rana Sanaullah, the Minister of Interior of Pakistan, said that international law allows Pakistan to enter the territory of Afghanistan in pursuit of the Pakistani Taliban (TTP) and against them do the operation.

But recently, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, the foreign minister of Pakistan, said on the sidelines of the Davos Switzerland economic meeting that Islamabad does not intend to launch operations on Afghan soil and that this country prefers the option of supporting the Islamic Emirate in order to destroy terrorism in Afghanistan.

Zardari added that Pakistan's direct action against Afghan terrorist groups in Afghanistan does not mean that Pakistan will carry out cross-border operations in Afghanistan if cross-border terrorism is not prevented.

Abdul Shakur Salangi, a political expert, said in an interview with AVA: The government of Pakistan is trying to maintain its relations with the Islamic Emirate and stop violence, because the government of Pakistan needs a government in South Asia that is part of Pakistan's policies in the region and the world.

Salangi added that the previous governments in Afghanistan had a hostile policy with the government of Pakistan and had established good relations with the enemies of this country and always accused this country of supporting terrorists, therefore Pakistani politicians are trying to maintain good relations with the Islamic Emirate.

He added that petty differences over Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) and some border issues cannot spoil Afghanistan's relations with Pakistan, because Pakistani politicians know that if Afghanistan's relations with Pakistan are ruined, it will be very difficult to restore them.

This political expert pointed out that good relations between Pakistan and Afghanistan are beneficial to both countries, because on the one hand, the people of these two countries have a lot in common from a cultural point of view, and on the other hand, Afghanistan has the longest border compared to other neighboring countries.

Meanwhile, Abdul Jamil Shirani, an expert on international relations, said in an interview with Ava that according to the international principles of war and international law, a country can carry out military operations on the territory of another country when that country has actually been attacked, if a country feels threatens another country, it must be resolved through diplomatic means, otherwise the military operation is against international laws.

He also stressed that whenever a country feels threatened by another country, if there are documents and evidence, they should solve their problem through diplomatic means and dialogue in accordance with the 1961 Vienna and Chicago Conventions.

Meanwhile, two months ago, the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) announced that its negotiations with the Pakistani government had ended and asked its fighters to attack government targets in Pakistan.

Pakistani officials say that the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan has safe places inside Afghanistan and they go across the border to attack Pakistan, but the Pakistani Taliban have said that they coordinate their attacks from inside Pakistan.
