Opening of a special library for women in Bamyan province
A library named "Kaj" for women was opened in Bamyan yesterday (Wednesday, February 1) at the cost of 150,000 Afghanis, on the initiative of a lady and with the cooperation of an institution.
Voice of Afghan Agency (AVA) - Bamyan: "Nikbakht Sana", the founder of this library, told AVA reporter that Kaj library has 500 to 600 volumes of books in the fields of philosophy, psychology, sociology, literature and etc.
 
In recent years, this is the first special library for women in Bamyan province. The official of this library says that this library was created especially for women and to promote the culture of reading among women.
 
Local officials in Bamyan province have also welcomed the establishment of this library, they say that they welcome such programs in Bamyan province.
 
According to him, a study hall has been created next to this library so that women can study there.
 
Maulavi Saifur Rahman Mohammadi, the head of information and culture of the Islamic Emirate for Bamyan province, told Ava that the local administration and the department of information and culture of Bamyan province welcome and support the establishment of scientific centers in this province.
 
However, a number of women in Bamyan Province have also welcomed the establishment of these centers and want the officials of the Islamic Emirate to reopen schools and universities within the framework of Islamic Sharia.
 
Hamida Mohseni, one of the women in Bamyan province, tells Ava that in more than a year, this is the first library that was started by a woman.
 
He expressed his hope that with the establishment of these centers and the support of the Islamic Emirate, the gates of universities and schools will also be opened for women.
 
The official of this library says that men can also use this library by borrowing books, but they cannot use its reading room.
