OCHA will provide humanitarian aid to more than 23 million people in Afghanistan in 2023
The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Aid or OCHA has said that 23.7 million of the 28.3 million people in need in Afghanistan have been identified to receive humanitarian aid in 2023.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Kabul: The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Aid or OCHA today (Sunday, February 5, 2023) published a report on the Twitter page about the vulnerabilities of Afghanistan, including the recent political developments, severe economic collapse and natural events in 2022. .
 
In this report about Afghanistan, it is stated that about 25 million people of this country will live in poverty at the beginning of 2023.
 
OCHA added that another six million people are on the brink of famine and one million children will face severe malnutrition.
 
Out of the 28.3 million people in need, 23.7 million are targeted to receive humanitarian aid in 2023, OCHA said.
 
These statements are expressed while Abdul Latif Nazari, Deputy Minister of Economy, recently said in a meeting in Kabul that the recent report of the World Bank shows that the economic governance in Afghanistan is improving and the inflation rate has decreased in the last year.
 
He added: despite banking restrictions and sanctions, Afghanistan's exports have increased unprecedentedly, and if this trend continues, the economic challenge in the country will be solved in the near future.
 
At the same time, the people of Afghanistan are faced with challenges due to the severe economic sanctions of Western countries and the United States.
