AVA - Double Volume Exchange transfusion Procedure Successfully Done on in Balkh

20 double-volume exchange transfusion procedures were successfully performed on a baby in Balkh.

Afghan Voice Agency (AVA)_Monitoring, For the first time the medical specialists in the northern region of the country have performed these procedures, said the Ministry of Public Health.

The Double Volume Exchange Transfusion is usually done to remove bilirubin and antibodies, increase blood circulation, replace 85% of blood, and prevent hemolytic diseases (a type of anemia caused by hemolysis) in babies.
