Qatar: Educational help to World, including Afghanistan
The assistant foreign minister for Qatar, said that her country supports education globally, including in Afghanistan.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA)_Monitoring, In a video posted by the Doha foreign ministry on Twitter, Alkhater says that attendees concurred that education is a human right and “even a religious” commitment at the education conference on Afghanistan in Bali.
 
“The state of Qatar is at the forefront of countries that provided international development assistance in the education sector in a number of countries, including Afghanistan, by providing opportunities for both men and women,” she said.
 
She said that last year, Qatar, in partnership with Indonesia, organized an International Conference on Afghan Women’s education in the Indonesian city of Bali. The conference was attended by more than 40 countries and many educational organizations and institutions, including Islamic Cooperation, European Union and United Nations.
 
Qatar aided more than $75 million to support Afghanistan, including scholarship programs, funding training programs, in Afghanistan in various fields, including the medical sectors, hosting the American University of Afghanistan (AUAF) in Doha to continue its work, and supporting the reopening of girl’s schools in Afghanistan, said the statement.
 
Recently, the Ministry of Higher Education of Afghanistan said on Wednesday that the new academic year for male students would commence in Kabul and several other colder provinces on March 6 of this year.
 
The organizations have urged the Taliban authorities to consider fundamental human and women rights, including women’s education and work in the country.
