Russian Foreign Minister: It would be a big mistake to lose the opportunity to revive the JCPOA
Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov told reporters in New York that it would be a big mistake to miss the opportunity to revive the JCPOA.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov on the sidelines of the UN Security Council meeting in New York on Tuesday, in response to whether JCPOA is dead? He said: "Losing the opportunity to revive the JCPOA will be a big mistake, especially at a time when relations in West Asia are being normalized."

The Russian Foreign Minister stated that we are witnessing the normalization of relations between Iran and Saudi Arabia with the mediation of China, and added: This is a very constructive process.

According to Iran Press News Agency, Lavrov stated that it is not up to Iran, Russia or China to revive the JCPOA, and added: Those who destroy this agreement should revive it.

He said: Attempts to introduce new needs and demands that do not exist in the original version of the JCPOA complicate the process of revitalizing this agreement and show the same approach as using pressure and trying to achieve unilateral concessions.

After months of intense diplomatic talks, the sanctions lifting negotiations have been delayed due to factors such as inconsistency in behavior, delay in decision-making, extravagance and new requests from the United States.

Experience has shown that despite the claims of diplomacy, the White House does not have the necessary will to make a decision to return to the JCPOA and compensate for the failed policy of the former US President Donald Trump's administration against Iran.

As a responsible country, Iran has always declared that it is ready to conclude a stable and reliable agreement that will remove the sanctions in a guaranteed way and will not remain as a pressure lever to be used against Iran in the future.
