According to Kazemi Qomi, the officials of the Islamic Emirate have also confirmed such an attitude and expressed regret over it.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Tehran: Hassan Kazemi Qomi, in this television interview that was conducted this morning, Monday, 25th of Thor, with the Islamic Republic of Iran's Three Radio and Television Network, mainly related to the issues related to the country's water rights from the Helmand/Hirmand River to Questions answered.
He said: Now our discussion is not about the commitments of the Afghan side (regarding water rights) and what the Afghan side has announced to us now is that they took technical measures and regarding this treaty (Helmand water rights) They are 100% committed and the situation that happened last year will not happen this year.
Mr. Qomi continued: "All our efforts are to come towards Iran when the Kajaki dam is released."
He pointed out a small fact regarding the issue of Iran's water rights from Afghanistan and said: I was in Kabul and I saw and I also know about Nimroz Province; Part of the farmers of Nimroz, Helmandi, Kandahari and Zabali are also gathering in front of Nimroz province and the Ministry of Water in Kabul, because they are facing water problems now.
But according to this senior Iranian diplomat, the issue of the Water Rights Treaty is a legal issue, an issue that the Afghan government is committed to and must implement.
He pointed out: The institutions of the Islamic Republic, especially the diplomatic apparatus, are demanding and pursuing this right of the Iranian people. I am hopeful that this year maybe with a little distance, but the water issue will be resolved.
Mr. Qomi added: "Last year, we had this discussion repeatedly with Taliban officials that the condition of this dam is such that it diverts the water." Of course, it must be said that the dam valves had technical problems and had these problems. Although the Taliban had committed and assured that the water would come, but due to the technical problems that occurred and the shape of this dam, only twenty-seven million cubic meters of water came.
He pointed out an important point and said: The experts who are now in Afghanistan and we have repeatedly told the Taliban officials that they are acting contrary to your announced policies in such a way that what is expected does not happen. Experts who stayed ahead of the government and still maintain their connections with the former officials who are related to foreigners. That's why we warned the Taliban and there is this concern that the intention that you are announcing, that the water will come, will not happen, and we have seen these things as well.
Of course, according to the special representative of the Iranian president for Afghanistan affairs, this fact was also told to them in the comments of the Taliban officials, that this happened and it is regrettable; That is, they accepted that such an issue has happened.
