Work On Eight Various Uplift Projects Begins in Kandahar
The provincial Municipality said that, the construction work on eight various development projects worth 12.8 million Afghani has been started in Kandahar.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA)_Monitoring, “The projects include road projects, culverts, ditches and will be funded by the development budget of the provincial Municipality,” the statement quoted the provincial Mayor Niamatullah Hassan as saying.
 
Dozens of skilled and un-skilled people will be provided with job opportunities in the projects, the statement said.
 
“The development projects are implemented by tax payers’ money and for launching such projects in the province they should pay their taxes on time,” the statement quoted.
A project worker Wali Mohammad said: “We are happy to have a work opportunity in our province, we will not be unemployed if there are more development projects.”
 
Karim Barai, a community representative, said: “These projects are according to our will and we are happy about it. During winter these streets are in terrible condition and water enters public houses but after the work, the problem would be resolved.”
 
Kandahar Mayor says that a large number of uplift schemes are being planned through which many people will get work opportunities.
