Work is being done on the educational curriculum of universities and schools and improving the capacity of professors
Officials in the Technical and Vocational Education Department say that this department is working on updating the educational curriculum of universities and schools, and there is also a program to improve the capacity of professors.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Kabul: Maulavi Ghulam Haider Shahamat, head of the technical education department, said on Thursday (May 25, 2023) at the National and International Industrial Symposium that the current curriculum in schools and universities is from the time of Babrak Carmel and nothing in the past twenty years. No step has been taken to renovate it.

Mr. Shahamat added that the oldness of the educational system has caused us to not be able to offer any professional employees to the society and every year we hire engineers and employees with high salaries from abroad.

Based on the words of courage; with the renewal of Afghanistan's educational curriculum and its equalization with the accepted standards, we do not need technical staff in many fields and we reach independence.

He clarified that now the time of military jihad is over and the Islamic Emirate should prepare itself for construction jihad, economic jihad, poverty alleviation jihad and jihad to help the oppressed.

Shahamat pointed out that the goals of the Technical and Vocational Education Department are poverty alleviation of Afghanistan and training of professional staff for the country.

Stating that the unemployment rate is not in a good state, he explained that 40% of the people of Afghanistan are suffering from unemployment and 500,000 tons per year and 41,000 tons per month are added to this number.

But Shamat added that our problem is not the lack of work; rather, it is the lack of professional employees, because a large number of engineers who came from abroad are working in Afghanistan with a monthly salary of 5,000 dollars.

According to his words; unfortunately, the previous systems in Afghanistan have not trained a single professional engineer and are failing in this regard.

He clarified that right now in line with mining, rail and power lines, professional employees are needed, unfortunately, we don't have labor force in any of these fields.

Shahamat, however, added that with the establishment of the Islamic Emirate; however, realizing our responsibility and obligation, we have taken steps in this direction, the result of which has been the reverse migration of some technical employees from Germany and other countries.

He said that we are ready to provide dignified work inside Afghanistan for other Afghan citizens who are present in Western countries.

The head of the technical and vocational education department also said that we have reached an agreement with the Azad University of the Islamic Republic of Iran to cooperate with us in the training of technical staff in the field of electricity and renewable energy.

He added that three-year courses are supposed to be taught in one year in cooperation with the Islamic Azad University of Iran.

Based on the statements of Maulavi Ghulam Haider Shahamat, although Afghanistan itself is a source of renewable energy; But now it imports most of its electricity from neighboring countries and we are trying to work on producing electricity from Afghanistan's own resources.
