Raisi: The relations between Iran and Oman have been upgraded from the commercial stage to the investment stage
In a joint meeting with the Sultan of Oman, the President of Iran said: Iran-Oman relations have reached the investment stage and the common views and approach of strengthening the regional convergence of the leaders of the two countries, along with the capacities and suitable fields for each other, can strengthen relations between the two countries in bilateral and expand an area.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): Iran's President Sayed Ebrahim Raisi, yesterday afternoon (Sunday, May 28, 2023) during the visit of Sultan of Oman Haitham Bin Tariq Al Saeed to Iran, in the joint meeting of the high-ranking delegations of the two countries, stating that Tehran and Muscat have common views on regional cooperation, strengthening and stabilizing the security, peace and prosperity of the nations of the region, he said: the relations between the two countries have reached the stage of investment and the common views and approach of strengthening the regional integration of the heads of Iran and Oman, along with the capacities And mutually suitable contexts can expand bilateral and regional relations.
The president of Iran listed the capacities of the two countries in the sectors of industry, trade, communications, defense and security affairs, road and rail lines, maritime transport and transit, financial and monetary exchanges, and energy, among other suitable areas for expanding cooperation, and referring to Negotiations between the authorities of Iran and Oman in the field of increasing investment emphasized the finalization of the formation of the support fund for the development of joint investment.
Raisi also pointed to the common positions of the two countries on the issues related to Yemen and Palestine and appreciated the role of Oman and especially the Sultan "Haitham bin Tariq" in trying to achieve the rights of the Yemeni people as well as the Palestinian people and called for the serious continuation of this role.
In this meeting, the Sultan of Oman, Haitham bin Tariq Al Saeed, expressed his gratitude for the invitation and warm welcome of the President of Iran and stated: After His Excellency's visit to Oman last year, the level of bilateral relations and regional cooperation between the two countries has improved significantly, and although the volume of trade exchanges It has doubled, but according to the capacities and diverse and favorable conditions of the two countries, we are still far from the desired level of relations and we must make these capacities a reality with more efforts.
At the same time, Iranian media announced the signing of four cooperation documents between the officials of these two countries in the field of economic cooperation and investment, cooperation in free zones and cooperation in the field of energy.
The Ministers of Oil and Economic Affairs and Finance and the Secretary General of the Supreme Council of Free Commercial-Industrial and Special Economic Zones from Iran and the Ministers of Energy, Economy and Trade of Oman signed the joint cooperation documents of these two countries.
On the other hand, Iranian Foreign Minister Amir Abdullahian said in a press conference with his Omani counterpart: Oman's role in regional and international issues is always constructive.
After the signing of 13 documents in Muscat, we have seen a doubling of the volume of trade between the two countries.
