Muttaqi Condolences Family Victims of Bulgaria Incident
Acting Foreign Minister of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, meet with the 18 family victims of Bulgaria incident and expressed his condolences.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA)_Monitoring,  Foreign Minister, Muttaqi during a meeting condoled the families of 18 countrymen who lost their lives in Bulgaria on the way to Europe, on Tuesday, the ministry of foreign affairs said in a statement.
 
“Eighteen of our countrymen who died on February 17 of this year in Sofia, the capital of Bulgaria, due to respiratory failure in a container on the way to Europe. We offer our condolences to the respected family”.
 
FM Muttaqi expressed his condolences on the death of Afghans in the Bulgarian incident and assured that the government will support and cooperate with them, according to the statement.
 
Meanwhile, he shared issues that delayed the transfer process, and said that oppression of international sanctions making strict everything for Afghanistan, the statement added.
 
He termed the international treaties unfair, against humanitarian activities which delayed the transfer process for at least three months.
 
During the meeting with victim families, FM Muttaqi asked the international community to remove the sanctions so that Afghans could have their rights in or outside the country.
 
On 17 February 2023, a number of Afghans lost their lives due to lack of oxygen in Sofia city, Bulgaria, after reaching Europe, lately, eighteen of them were transferred to the country and handed over to their families.
