30 Nov 2023 - 15:59

Pro-Palestinian protesters have gathered outside the office of the real estate consulting company “Fisher German” in London, demanding the closure of the company due to its ties with the Israeli weapons company “Elbit Systems.”

Afghan voice Agency (AVA) - Monitoring: Protesters gathered in the British capital city on Wednesday to mark the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People, calling for an immediate end to arms supplies to Israel amid the regime's war in the Gaza Strip.
The crowd denounced Fisher German company for leasing properties to Elbit Systems and declared this Israeli company as the perpetrator of “committing genocide” against the people of Gaza. They demanded to “shut down” the company.
They were holding Palestinian flags and chanting pro-Palestinian slogans, such as “Free Palestine” and “From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free.”
Similar protests took place across the UK, in Birmingham, Manchester, and Liverpool as part of a coordinated national action.
In Britain, Fisher German is the landlord for Elbit Systems, Israel's largest private arms company that supplies the Israeli military with 85 percent of the drones used against Palestinians.
The British government has been criticized for being “complicit in Israeli crimes” due to its relations with this company.
Two of Israel’s biggest weapons factories, Elbit and Rafael, both have operations in the United Kingdom.
Meanwhile, pro-Palestinian activists last week blocked the entrance of UAV Tactical Systems (U-TacS) in Meridian East Business Park in Leicester, owned by Elbit Systems. UK pro-Palestinian activists have been targeting Elbit factories for more than two years.
The UK, the US, and the European Union member states have been providing Israel with weapons and military assistance, since the regime launched its genocidal campaign in the Gaza Strip on October 7. Since then, people from across the UK, and other parts of the world, have held many protests to show solidarity with Palestinian people.
A four-day truce took effect on Friday to allow the delivery of humanitarian aid to Gaza after seven weeks of unrelenting bombardment. The truce was extended for two more days on Monday.
People in the UK continue to protest after the extension of the truce, demanding a permanent ceasefire. The protest organizers say as long as the killing continues, they will also continue their demonstrations.
According to the Gaza-based health ministry, over 15,000 Palestinians, including more than 6,000 children, were killed in Israeli strikes, and 36,000 others were injured during the 49 days of war.
An additional 7,000 Palestinians are missing and believed to be under the rubble in Gaza, home to more than two million people who are being subjected to a “complete siege” by Israel./Press tv
