The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Emirate:

By "vetoing" the United Nations resolution, America showed that it is complicit in the oppression of the people of Gaza

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Emirate says that America, by vetoing the resolution establishing a ceasefire in Gaza, has shown that it is clearly complicit in the ongoing oppression of this region.

Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Kabul: Abdul Qahar Balkhi, the spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, wrote on X channel today (Saturday, December 9) that America, by vetoing the resolution to establish a ceasefire in Gaza, showed that it is clearly complicit in the ongoing oppression of this region.

The spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has also said that the new position of America is reprehensible and that this country uses international institutions for its political purposes.

Meanwhile, on Friday, the United States of America vetoed the UN Security Council resolution that called for an urgent ceasefire in the Gaza Strip.

Israel is bombing northern and southern Gaza in the latest phase of its two-month war against Hamas, as fighting intensified on Friday and the Palestinian death toll rose.

Hours before the veto of the Security Council resolution, which with the support of the majority of the members of this council called for a humanitarian ceasefire in Gaza, Antonio Guterres, the Secretary General of the United Nations, announced that no place in Gaza is safe for civilians.

The vote left Washington diplomatically isolated in the 15-member council. Thirteen members voted in favor of the draft resolution presented by the United Arab Emirates, while Britain abstained.
