Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): The English publication "Telegraph" wrote that satellite images show that China is building a secret military base on the border of Tajikistan and Afghanistan to monitor possible threats.
The Telegraph stated about the place where this military base will be built: "This facility will be built in the heart of mountains at a height of about four thousand meters, and observation towers and military forces from both countries of Tajikistan and China will be stationed there.
The report adds that neither China nor Tajikistan have yet publicly commented on the construction and development of this military base, which appears to be from the Soviet era, however, satellite images show a steady pace of construction on the base and the roads leading to it.
After the fall of the previous government, China has established close relations with the government of the Islamic Emirate, and the government and private companies of this country have signed contracts with the current government for the extraction of several large mines and oil extraction in the past three years.
