Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Mazar-e-Sharif: Mohammad Yusuf Wafa, governor of Balkh province, visited the cotton and vegetable oil production factory of this province and said that the activation and operation of these factories after the establishment of the Islamic Emirate is considered a great achievement. According to him, during the republic, no attention was paid to infrastructure works and the activation of state factories.
He added: "The capitals of the country, including state-owned factories, were being destroyed during the republican regime, but the government of the Islamic Emirate is determined and committed to preserving the national capital and activating and using these factories."
The Governor of Balkh stated that the activation of Jat factories, especially the government ones, will push the people and the country towards self-sufficiency. According to him, the activities of the workshops and production factories raise the domestic market's demand for goods in the form of a standard.
He stressed the development of cotton and vegetable oil factories in this province and promised to cooperate with the officials of these factories.
Meanwhile, Faridun Farid Ahmed, the head of cotton and vegetable oil production factory in Balkh province, said that this factory was activated after 20 years with the establishment of the Islamic Emirate government in 1401 A.S. and now it operates under the Ministry of Finance.
He stated that 50% of the equipment and machines of this factory are out of order and damaged, but with the efforts of the government of the Islamic Emirate, the cotton and vegetable oil production factory of Balkh province continues. According to him, 140 people directly and hundreds of other people earn a living from these factories and are working.
He added: "The cotton and vegetable oil production factory of Balkh province needs more funds for development and it is necessary to equip this factory with advanced devices because a lot of revenue is deposited into the government treasury from this address."
It should be mentioned that the cotton and vegetable oil production factory in Balkh province has the capacity to produce 25 tons of oil and 60 tons of cotton per day.
