Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Kabul: In continuation of the accountability program of the government to the nation, the Ministry of Urban Development and Housing today (Monday, Aug 5) shared the achievements and functions of the ministry in the past year with the journalists at the Government Information and Media Center.
Sheikh Hamdullah Nomani, Acting Minister of Urban Development and Housing, said in this press conference that the main task of this ministry is planning and urban development is related to several ministries.
He added that the Ministry of Urban Development conducts studies before planning and mapping, and then this Ministry provides the plan and map to the municipality and is the implementer of the municipality.
According to his words, if there are problems in implementing the plan and policy, the municipality and the Ministry of Urban Development will work together to solve it.
Stating that last year, the ministry approved 57 urban development plans for the center and provinces, he said that the Ministry of Urban Development has started 5 construction projects in the center and provinces.
Acting Ministry of Urban Development stated that the construction work of Nile Bagh settlement in Darul Aman area of Kabul city has been completed by 25% and will be put into operation in the next 38 months.

Urban violations have been established and identified by the Ministry of Urban Development at the country level and efforts are being made to deal with these violations and the work to prevent urban violations has started.
This official of the Islamic Emirate says that urban violations and the construction of non-standard settlements in the capital have affected the disorder and beauty of Kabul city.
He warned that the Ministry of Urban Development and Housing does not allow anyone to build non-standard buildings.
Mr. Nomani added that the Ministry of Urban Development plans to build 46 settlements for the immigrants, whose land transfer has been completed.
According to his words, the construction work in the new city of Kabul is going on now and the right opportunity has been provided for the activities of companies and the private sector.
Acting Minister of Urban Development said that the population living in Kabul is more than its capacity and in order to reduce traffic congestion and build transportation terminals in Chahar Asiyab, Khak Jabar, Stalaf and Arghandi districts of Kabul province, work is going on regarding the design of buildings and the transfer of land to the Ministry of Transportation. .
Pointing out that there are more than 600 settlements across the country, he added that the detailed plan for the third phase of the new Kabul project has been completed and the work on the fourth phase is underway.
This official of the Islamic Emirate noted that an urban plan is being made in 16 provinces, a detailed implementation of the urban plan is being implemented in 10 provinces, and an improvement plan is being made in 6 provinces.
On the other hand, Sheikh Madar Ali Karimi, deputy of urban affairs of the Ministry of Urban Development and Housing, said that the urban plans of this ministry are long-term, medium-term and short-term.
He added that one of the plans of this ministry is the master plan of Kabul city road networks, which has been completed and submitted to Kabul Municipality for implementation.
Deputy Minister of Urban Development added that with the implementation of this plan, part of the transportation problems in the capital will be solved.
