In an interview with AVA reporter, Abdul Sadiq Jovindeh, an expert in economic affairs, said that the expansion of trade between Afghanistan and Tajikistan will provide opportunities for increasing the country's income.
He stated that trade exchanges between Afghanistan and Tajikistan also increase the scope of goods transit, and stated that Afghanistan's position is very valuable for the development of trade and transit with neighboring countries and the region.
According to the words of this economic affairs expert, Tajikistan is a bordering and neighboring country of Afghanistan, and the government officials can increase their commercial development with Dushanbe, especially the industrial goods of Afghanistan have a good market in Tajikistan.
Referring to the new decision of the Tajik government that it will expand its railway lines to the border of Afghanistan, Mr. Javaindeh added that these railway lines are useful for Dushanbe and Kabul.
He said: "Afghanistan is one of the countries that has a sensitive position from a geo-economic point of view, and this can be very valuable to neighboring countries, the region and even the world."
However, the officials of the Chamber of Industries and Mines emphasize the further increase of trade and transit cooperation between Afghanistan and Tajikistan and say that if the railway between Afghanistan and Tajikistan is connected, the economy of both countries will grow significantly.
According to Tajik media reports, the length of the railway that extends to the border of Afghanistan is 51 km, and with its completion, Tajikistan will have access to the markets of Afghanistan, Pakistan and India.
The cost of this project is four million dollars and it will be completed in three years.
It is said that the construction of this railway is a part of the big project called "TAT" on the basis of which Afghanistan, Tajikistan and Turkmenistan will be connected with other Central Asian countries through railways.
