Meanwhile, the Sky News website, quoting "Izzat al-Rashq", one of the senior officials of Hamas, stressed: "What is published in the media about the selection of some people as the head of the new political office of Hamas is not true."

Ezzat al-Rashq said that his movement will announce the results as soon as the consultations to elect a new leader are over.

It should be mentioned that the Saudi Arabia website claimed yesterday that "Mohammed Ismail Darwish" alias "Abu Omar Hassan" was elected as the head of the new political office of Hamas movement and Haniyeh's successor. In this report, it was claimed that Yahya al-Sanwar, the head of the Hamas movement in the Gaza Strip, opposed the selection of Khalid Meshaal as Haniyeh's successor.
