Russia: 260 Ukrainian soldiers killed while trying to infiltrate Russian territory

Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): Ukraine has lost 260 soldiers and 50 pieces of equipment, including seven aircraft, in the attack on Kursk in the past 24 hours, the Russian Defense Ministry said in a statement on Wednesday. tank and eight armored personnel carriers.

 

The ministry said Russian military units and border units of the Federal Security Service of Russia continue to destroy Ukrainian armed forces in the border areas of Kursk and the operation is still ongoing.

 

"Regional operational headquarters are active around the clock and the situation is under control," Alexei Smirnov, the interim governor of Russia's Kursk region, said on his Telegram channel that two Ukrainian missiles had been shot down in the area.

 

The Russian official also said that the evacuation of residents of areas targeted by Ukrainian missiles has begun and temporary accommodation has been provided for them. Medical personnel from Moscow and St. Petersburg have also arrived.

 

The attack on Kursk, which began on Tuesday and continues today, is said to be one of Kiev's biggest attempts to infiltrate Russian territory since the war between the two countries began in February 2022.

 

"Air strikes, missile forces, artillery fire and border forces have prevented the enemy from advancing deep into Russian territory," the Russian Defense Ministry said.

 

Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova condemned the attack as a terrorist attack.

More than 300 Ukrainian soldiers, backed by 11 tanks and more than 20 armored vehicles, attacked Russian border guards in the Kursk region, the Russian Defense Ministry said on Tuesday.
