Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - International Service: The Organization of Islamic Cooperation strongly condemned this action of the Zionist regime in the final statement of the emergency meeting of the foreign ministers of the organization's executive committee on the assassination of Ismail Haniyeh, the late head of the political bureau of Hamas, on Wednesday night. 

 

In the final statement of the meeting of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, it is stated: We strongly condemn the assassination of Ismail Haniyeh during his visit to Tehran. We hold Israel (regime) fully responsible for this sinful aggression.

 

This statement adds: Haniyeh's assassination is an aggressive crime and a clear violation of international laws.

 

Earlier, "Hossein Ebrahim Taha", Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, said in a speech at the extraordinary meeting of the executive committee of foreign ministers of this organization in Jeddah: "The Israeli occupying regime's insistence on crimes is a violation of all taboos, customs, laws and international resolutions."

 

He added: Israel's (regime) attack on Tehran is an attack on Iran's sovereignty and national security and a clear violation of international law and the provisions of the United Nations Charter.

 

The Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation further asked the Security Council to fulfill its responsibility and take the necessary measures to force the occupying regime to respect international law and stop its aggression, as well as to establish a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip.

 

The extraordinary meeting of the Executive Committee of the Foreign Ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation was held today (Wednesday) in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

 

According to Iran Press, this emergency meeting has the agenda of investigating the continuation of Zionist crimes against the Palestinian people, as well as the dimensions of the aggression of the Zionist criminal regime in the martyrdom of Ismail Haniyeh, the head of the political office of the Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), and the violation of the sovereignty and national security of the Republic. Islamic Iran was organized by this regime and following intensive efforts and active diplomacy of Iran through consultations and numerous contacts of Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs Ali Bagheri with the Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and the foreign ministers of the member countries of this organization.
