"Express Tribune", a publication close to the Pakistan Army, has written in an article about the reason for the dismissal of "Asif Ali Khan Durrani", Pakistan's special representative for Afghanistan, that he could not have any effect on Pakistan-Afghanistan relations during his mission and was not acceptable in Kabul.

Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Kabul: "Express Tribune", a publication close to Pakistan's army, wrote in an article about the reason for the dismissal of "Asif Ali Khan Durrani", Pakistan's special representative for Afghanistan, that during his mission, he could not have any effect on Pakistan-Afghanistan relations. And it was not accepted in Kabul either.

This publication added that some other sources said that Durrani had few tools in view of the general strategy that Pakistan was following.

Pakistan's special envoy for Afghanistan is a position that was created in June 2020 after the Doha agreement between the United States and the Islamic Emirate. He is required to report to the Pakistani army in addition to the government.

Pakistan's Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif nominated Durrani as his special representative for Afghanistan last year to break the deadlock in relations with Kabul.

Express Tribune added that the relationship with Afghanistan has become a challenge, especially since August 2021, and despite hopes for improving relations between the two countries, the situation has not improved.

News sources announced that Asif Ali Khan Durrani, Pakistan's special representative for Afghanistan affairs, has been removed from his position.
