Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Monitoring: The question of data sovereignty here is essential. But there is one company with a network of VPN companies that could have ulterior motives for this endeavor.
Kape Technologies, which owns major VPN providers Express VPN, Intego Antivirus, Private Internet Access, Cyber Ghost, and Zenmate, seeks to increase the diversion of data towards it through the sponsorship of popular shows and podcasts.
It has sponsored Tucker Carlson, Lex Fridman, Angry Video Game Nerd, Drew Gooden, Cody Co, Uncle Roger, and, of course, arch-Zionist Ben Shapiro and his platform, The Daily Wire, which employs Jordan Peterson.
Kape Technologies, which has headquarters in the City of London, is owned by Israeli billionaire Teddy Sagi. The tycoon, who has been jailed for bribery and fraud, is worth over $6 billion.
Sagi has a history of material support for the Israeli occupation forces. At a fundraising gala for the Israeli military, he stated: "It is a debt of honor for us and for me personally, to express gratitude and appreciation that all of Israel's citizens owe to you".
Not only did Sagi donate $3 million for scholarships for Israeli soldiers, but he gave a quarter of a million to help transport Israeli military personnel during the genocide in Gaza.
His co-founder at Kape Technologies is Kobe Menahimi, who was previously a developer in the Israeli spy set unit 8200.
Ido Erlichman also served in the CEO position of the company and was previously a soldier of Unit 217, the infamous Duvdevan unit, known for coming disguised as Arabs to carry out intelligence operations and assassinations against Palestinians.
The current head of accounting at Kape technologies, Liron Peer (Ben-Efraim), has also been a member of unit 8200.
It seems hard to trust the companies of Kape Technologies to provide protection for information through their VPNs.
The CEO of Kape Technologies, Ido Ehrlichman, emerged from the infamous Unit 217 in the Israeli 89th commando brigade. This group is known as the Duvdevan, which means 'cherry' in Hebrew.
Members of the unit enter Palestinian areas disguised as Arabs and seek to spy on and arrest people.
Duvdevan members are sometimes seen infiltrating demonstrations, wearing keffiyehs, and speaking Arabic. They then take the opportunity to pull out their pistols and seize individuals from the protest.
The unit also has been linked to key assassinations throughout the history of the Zionist colonization of Palestine.
A recent example of these malicious activities was the liquidation of alleged resistance figures, Mohammed Jalamana, and two brothers Basil and Mohamad al Ghazawi, inside the Ibn Sina Hospital in Jenin, where one of them had been receiving treatment.
The Zionist occupation Unit 217 entered the hospital disguised as Palestinian civilians and speaking Arabic, the agents presented themselves as doctors and women in civilian clothing concealing machine guns underneath their clothes.
The Duvdevan was considered the inspiration for the Netflix series Fauda, which glamorizes a group in the Israeli military carrying out similar activities to Unit 217.
A creator of the series, Lior Raz, was previously an agent in the Duvdevan and used his personal experience in the writing of the show.
It is this type of clandestine activity that lies behind the leadership of Kape Technologies, the owner of numerous VPNs used by millions across the globe in order to preserve their privacy.
It seems unlikely that the privacy of these users is being respected./Press TV
