Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Kabul: Cyberspace users in the country coincide with the 23rd anniversary of the US invasion of Afghanistan on October 7; They have reacted to the issue in posts and hashtags.
Abdul Salam Jalali, a social media user, wrote on his Facebook page that 23 years ago, then-US President George W. Bush announced the beginning of the US and international coalition operation on October 7 by appearing on television.
He wrote that the war in Afghanistan began on October 7, 2001, with US-led coalition airstrikes, and during the two decades of foreign presence in Afghanistan, more than 2,300 American men and women were killed and more than 20,000 wounded. More than 450 British soldiers and hundreds of other invading soldiers from other countries were killed and wounded.
Mr. Jalali added that the exact number of Afghan civilians killed and wounded and security forces of the former Afghan government and the Islamic Emirate in the war is not exactly available.
The user called the war in Afghanistan the longest war in US history and said the country had spent more than $2 trillion in its two decades of presence in Afghanistan.
"The aggressive and occupying American and British forces and their coalition left Afghanistan at the end of August with a shameful defeat and called the 20-year war apparently over," he added.
Another Facebook user, Jahda Khorasani, criticized the US and its allies on her page, adding that the US has turned Afghanistan into one of the most unstable countries in the world.
Asadullah, a user of the X network, also said that in the US invasion of Afghanistan, not only the US, but all 40 countries that participated in the war with the US were defeated and paid a heavy price for trusting the US.
Amir Ali, another cyber user, also criticized the US and its allies, saying that after the US invasion on October 7, 2001, irreparable losses of life and property were inflicted on the people of Afghanistan.
"Years ago, when the US invaded Afghanistan, some Iranians started saying that now you have to wait two years to get an Afghan visa, Afghanistan becomes Los Angeles, and after that," wrote Negar, another X-ray user. 23 years of our situation, America did not come for progress, nor did democracy come only for colonialism.
However, senior officials of the Islamic Emirate, in response to October 7, the 23rd anniversary of the US invasion of Afghanistan, said that 20 years of US occupation in Afghanistan had no fruit for them, saying that 20 years of resistance against the US had proved that material forces could not resist. The will of a nation to stand and the year-long struggle of the Palestinian resistance has also shown that they will win.
Meanwhile, according to numerous reports from international organizations, the US and NATO occupation of the country has caused the deaths of about 241,000 civilians.
