Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): Sean South, spokesman for the White House National Security Council, claimed in a press conference that the US has no connection to the attack by the Tahrir al-Sham terrorists in Syria.
However, he took a questionable stance and said: "The Assad regime's refusal to participate in the political process and its reliance on Russia and Iran has led to the collapse of its lines."
Sean South added: "We are monitoring the situation in Syria and have made contacts with the capitals of the countries of the region in the past 48 hours."
The White House official also said: "We will continue to protect American personnel and military facilities essential to ensuring that ISIS does not re-emerge in Syria."
The White House National Security Council spokesman, in connection with the developments in Gaza and the release of a video of an American-Israeli prisoner by Izz al-Din al-Qassam (the military wing of Hamas), claimed: “The war in Gaza could end tomorrow and could have ended months ago if Hamas had agreed to release the hostages.”
He made no mention of the need to stop the fighting and the killing of civilians, and went on to say that an agreement to stop the fighting and increase humanitarian aid to Gaza is now on the table.
Sean South continued: “There is a significant opportunity to reach an agreement to release the hostages, as President Biden indicated last week; Biden will continue to try to reach an agreement to release American citizens through diplomacy and pressure on Hamas with sanctions.”
