Telephone conversation between the presidents of Iran and Syria; Assad: We are confident that we will win with the support of regional countries, including Iran

Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Tehran: The Iranian Presidential Information Center reported a telephone conversation between President Masoud Pezeshkian and Syrian President Bashar Assad.
In this conversation, the Iranian President emphasized Iran’s readiness to provide any assistance and cooperation to the Syrian government to overcome the current crisis, stating that Iran is following developments in Syria with seriousness and precision.
He added: “We hope that with Your Excellency’s wisdom, strength, and steadfastness, the Syrian country will successfully and victoriously overcome this stage, just as it has overcome much more difficult conditions than this one.”
The Iranian President continued by referring to the diplomatic efforts of the Iranian Foreign Minister and his consultations with the heads of regional countries to create synergy and solidarity in combating terrorism, and said: "We will definitely, through cooperation and interaction with Islamic countries, thwart the Zionists' efforts to disrupt unity and cohesion among Muslims and spread terrorism and insecurity in the region."
Pezeshkian considered preserving the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Syria to be Iran's regional strategy, and while emphasizing Iran's continued support for the Syrian government and people, he stated: "We believe that Syria will once again overcome the Zionist plots against the security and stability of this country, and we stand by the Syrian government and people on this path."
Syrian President Bashar al-Assad also said in this telephone conversation about the call of the president's doctors and the diplomatic efforts of Iranian Foreign Minister Araqchi to express solidarity with the Syrian government and people and help resolve the crisis in the country: "Iran's positions in supporting and advocating for Syria are not related to today. During the very difficult years of war in our country that left us all alone, it was the Islamic Republic of Iran that stood by us, and today it is you who continue this honorable path." The Syrian President continued by referring to the hands behind the movements of "terrorists in northern Syria" and said: "These events are a new stage of the war that is underway with American and Zionist plans against the independence and security of Syria, and their main goal is to divide Syria and create a state in the north of our country with the agency of Israel and the United States." Bashar al-Assad stated that the countries of the region should know that what is today referred to as the axis of resistance is an axis in opposition to the hostility and domination of the West over our region, and if this axis is damaged or the independence of the countries of this axis is undermined, other countries will not be safe from its damage and consequences. He added: With such actions, America and the Zionist regime are seeking to redraw the map and borders of our region in favor of the goals and interests of the Zionists, and in the meantime, we, as the axis of resistance, see no option but to win this war and we are confident that we will achieve it with the support and backing of the countries of the region, including Iran.
