Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): The Flight Radar website, which tracks planes, claimed that Bashar al-Assad's plane flew northwest, then turned around near Homs and disappeared.
This is the name of a Swedish website that displays the location of passenger flights live on a map. The site claims that Bashar al-Assad's plane turned off its radar and disappeared from the monitoring devices.
Meanwhile, the Wall Street Journal, citing Syrian security officials, announced that Bashar al-Assad left his country in the early hours of this morning (Sunday) for an unknown destination.
The newspaper wrote that Assad's departure from Syria came after his wife and children left for Russia last week.
Armed groups entered the Syrian capital Damascus from different directions hours ago and took control of the entire city without any resistance.
They have also taken control of Damascus airport and the Syrian Radio and Television building without any resistance.
The Reuters news agency also reported, citing official Syrian sources, that Bashar al-Assad was not present in Damascus; a Syrian military source also told the agency that the Syrian army command had notified the "fall of the Bashar al-Assad government" to army officers and commanders.
