Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): Reuters, citing two Syrian sources, claimed that there is a high probability that Syrian President Bashar al-Assad was killed in an air crash.
Last night, at the same time as the reports were published about the arrival and domination of the armed groups opposing Bashar al-Assad's government in Damascus, the capital of Syria, a Syrian plane left Damascus airport.
The specialized website for tracking international flights (FlightRadar) claimed that this plane was initially heading towards the coastal area of Syria, but then suddenly changed its course and disappeared from the radar shortly after.
Reuters has not confirmed whether the plane was carrying Assad.
The Wall Street Journal reported this morning, quoting Syrian security officials, that Bashar al-Assad left his country in the early hours of this morning (Sunday) for an unknown destination.
The newspaper wrote that Assad's departure from Syria took place after his wife and children left for Russia last week.
Hours ago, armed groups entered Damascus, the capital of Syria, from different axes and took control of the entire city without any resistance.
They have also taken control of the Damascus airport and the Syrian Radio and Television building without any resistance.
