Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): Sputnik reported, citing an informed source in the Kremlin, that Bashar al-Assad and his family members arrived in Moscow.
The media outlet said that the Kremlin had granted asylum to Assad and his family for humanitarian reasons.
It had previously been rumored that Bashar al-Assad, his son Hafez and three other officers were killed in a plane crash this morning while leaving Syria.
This morning, following the publication of a Flight Radar report regarding the disappearance of the plane carrying Bashar al-Assad, some media outlets, including Reuters and Baghdad Al-Youm, announced that Bashar al-Assad, his son Hafez and three other officers were killed on the plane.
Flight Radar, which tracks aircraft, reported that the Syrian Air Il-76, which appeared on radars in the Damascus area at around 5:00 local time, disappeared from the screens after flying for about 40 minutes near the city of Homs, and its location is still unknown.
Baghdad Al-Youm wrote: The information we received from the Russians indicates that when President Bashar Al-Assad's plane took off from Damascus International Airport, Israeli planes were flying over the Syrian capital and other areas of the country.
According to Baghdad Al-Youm, what has been confirmed to us so far is that Bashar Al-Assad lost his life due to the Israeli targeting of his plane.
