Western countries should not expect human rights from Afghanistan according to their standards
In response to UNAMA’s request to observe human rights, the Islamic Emirate’s spokesman said that Afghanistan ensures human rights in accordance with its Islamic culture and principles. He asked Western countries not to expect human rights from Afghanistan according to their standards.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Kabul: Maulavi Zabihullah Mujahid, the Islamic Emirate’s spokesman, assured that citizen rights will be ensured in Afghanistan and, in response to UNAMA’s request to observe human rights, emphasized that Afghanistan acts according to its Islamic culture and principles.
Zabihullah Mujahid asked Western countries not to set their expectations based on their own standards.
He said, according to the national state television, that after the Islamic Emirate came to power, human casualties in the country have decreased and people are turning to the courts to solve their problems.
The spokesman for the Islamic Emirate called on citizens to refer to the Deputy Complaints Hearing Office of the Ministry of Encouraging Good and Preventing Evil if their rights are violated. It is worth noting that UNAMA had previously published a report calling on the Islamic Emirate to respect human rights in Afghanistan.
