UNIFIL: Israel does not adhere to Resolution 1701
The UN peacekeeping force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) announced that the actions of the Israeli army, including the destruction of UNIFIL bases and Lebanese army infrastructure, are a clear violation of Resolution 1701.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): The UN peacekeeping force in Lebanon, known as "UNIFIL", announced: The Israeli army is deliberately destroying the centers of our forces and the infrastructure of the Lebanese army, which is a clear violation of Resolution 1701 and international law.

UNIFIL added: We saw an Israeli bulldozer destroying a Lebanese army observation tower in the Labuneh border area in the south of the country.

This UN-affiliated organization stated: The Israeli army also destroyed the blue barrels that symbolize the withdrawal line between Lebanon and Israel.

UNIFIL had also called for the Israeli army to withdraw from southern Lebanon by the due date at the end of last December.

Al-Akhbar newspaper wrote this morning that some officials in the Lebanese army have received serious signals from General Jasper Jeffers, the American observer of the current ceasefire in Lebanon, about the Zionist regime’s intention to extend the ceasefire.

According to this report, Israel is seeking to extend the 60-day ceasefire period to 90 days and continue it until next April.

The 60-day tentative ceasefire agreement between Israel and Lebanon began on November 27, 2024, and the US military announced that the commander of CENTCOM Special Operations, General Jasper Jeffers, will supervise the implementation of the ceasefire in Lebanon, along with the special representative of the Biden administration.

According to Lebanese media, US envoy Amos Hochstein is scheduled to arrive in Beirut next Monday and chair the meeting of the ceasefire monitoring committee as the civilian head of this committee.

This is while the Lebanese Hezbollah movement warned the Zionist regime on Monday evening that after the end of the ceasefire, it would deal with any presence of the regime's military as an occupying force on Lebanese soil.

Hezbollah also said that if the other side adheres to the ceasefire agreement, Hezbollah will also adhere to it, otherwise the consequences of any presence of Zionist military in Lebanon will be the responsibility of Tel Aviv.
