Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): Kugelman wrote these remarks on Sunday, January 5, in a note on the social network X.
This senior American researcher claimed that Trump is likely to view the Islamic Emirate positively in the fight against ISIS.
He noted that this approach will cause disagreement among senior members of the Trump administration.
Kugelman clarified that Mike Waltz, the White House National Security Advisor in the Trump administration, is one of the anti-Islamic Emirate figures who disagrees with this approach.
He acknowledged that in the meantime, Pakistan will also exploit the growing concerns of Afghanistan-based terrorism.
Kugelman noted that Pakistan could prove to be a useful partner for the next US administration.
The remarks come after an ISIS-inspired attack in the US city of New Orleans on Wednesday left 15 people dead and 30 others injured.
