Political and military experts in conversation with AVA:

Afghanistan has more military and weapons capabilities than ever before

Afghanistan has more military and weapons capabilities than ever before
After the activation of the Milan Concours (9M135) guided missile by the Ministry of National Defense; political and military experts, emphasizing that a lot of equipment from the 300,000-strong army of the Republic and at least more than $7 billion worth of weapons and ammunition from foreign forces (the US and NATO) remained in Afghanistan, say that the country's military and weapons capabilities are currently stronger than ever.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Kabul: Following the increase in border tensions between Afghanistan and Pakistan, the Afghan Ministry of National Defense unveiled a surface-to-air guided missile on Saturday this week.
Inayatullah Kharazmi, spokesman for the Ministry of National Defense, wrote on his X account on Saturday this week (January 4) that under the leadership of Fasihuddin Fitrat, Chief of Staff of the Army, the Milan Concours (9M135) guided missile was activated and 13 troops underwent a one-month professional and practical training course.
However, political and military experts also highlight the military capabilities of the countries in the region, but at the same time emphasize that Afghanistan has also been rich in terms of weapons for forty years.
International affairs expert Wais Naseri said in an interview with Ava about Afghanistan's military capabilities: In recent days, the Ministry of National Defense of Afghanistan said that it has developed a surface-to-air missile. This is not unlikely, because foreign forces left all kinds of weapons, ammunition, and spare parts in the country after leaving Afghanistan.
According to Naseri, former US President Donald Trump announced at the time that weapons and ammunition worth around $80 billion and then $7 billion were left in Afghanistan. Although, according to Naseri, there is a big difference between these two figures, in general, it can be said that billions of dollars in untouched weapons from the US and NATO remain in Afghanistan.
Naseri clarified: In addition, the military equipment of the former government forces, which had more than three hundred thousand troops, remains, and all the depots in Afghanistan were full of weapons, which were given to the current government; therefore, it can be said that Afghanistan has become a weapons depot.
Naseri also stated: During his election campaign, Trump explicitly said that today the main US military equipment is in Afghanistan, and this was Biden's great betrayal of America, that if I were in his place, I would not let a single bullet remain in Afghanistan. According to Nasseri, with this claim by Trump and other US officials, the reality is that Afghanistan has become a weapons depot after the withdrawal of foreign forces.
Afghanistan needs more reconstruction
Emphasizing that Afghanistan needs reconstruction today, Nasseri emphasized that efforts should be made today to fill Afghanistan's seat in the United Nations and other international organizations, strengthen governance in Afghanistan, and create cohesion, because Pakistan's only goal is fragmentation and the existence of a weak state in this land.
He also emphasized that the current Afghan government should focus more on creating jobs and jobs inside the country, as well as solving the problems of refugees abroad and preparing the ground for their return.
Afghanistan should increase its military capability and capacity
Although Nasseri described Afghanistan as full of various types of weapons, at the same time he said that military and armament capacity should be increased.
Nasseri continued his speech by asking the Islamic Emirate to “first of all, address the fundamental internal problems, leave the work to the working people, build the government from a strong foundation and attract the people to itself.” According to him, when a strong and people-friendly system is built, neighboring countries and those who have ill intentions towards Afghanistan will not dare to intervene.
Nasseri also asked the Islamic Emirate to assure the world that this country is not an exporter and cradle of terrorism, but rather a source of terrorism and a financier of terrorist groups, countries other than Afghanistan.
He also asked the Islamic Emirate to try to bring innovative and creative minds back to the country to help in development and progress, and to leave the work to its people so that the people of Afghanistan no longer fall victim to arms and war. Because, according to him, over the past forty years, sovereignty has been a weapon that has caused great financial and human losses to the people of Afghanistan.
Afghanistan's current military capability is greater than ever
Meanwhile, General Sayed Mohammad Ali Hosseini, a military expert, said in an interview with Ava that Afghanistan currently has extraordinary military and weapons capabilities.
According to him, considering that most of the weapons and ammunition from the US and NATO remain in Afghanistan, Afghanistan's current military capability, especially in terms of weapons, is far higher than during Najib's time and even the republican era.
In General Sayed Mohammad Ali's view, Afghanistan can confront countries like Pakistan in land wars, but the problem here is that Pakistan has deterrence and nuclear weapons and at the same time has a strong and well-equipped air force, which would present Afghanistan with difficulties if it were to confront Pakistan.
He calls on the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan to try to prevent a full-scale war for now and resolve the problems through negotiations, because Afghanistan currently does not have the capacity to bear the heavy burden of war and will suffer.
It is worth recalling that the Ministry of National Defense of the Islamic Emirate announced on Saturday this week that 13 young personnel have graduated from the Ministry's artillery division in the new guided missile division called the Milan Concourse (9M135).
