Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces: Countries should stop oppressing Afghan refugees
In the context of Pakistan's recent crackdown and detention of refugees in Islamabad, Qari Fasihuddin Fitrat, Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces, in a land distribution program for refugees in Kandahar province, called on countries that forcibly deport Afghan refugees to "stop oppressing refugees" and allow refugees to return to the country "of their own free will."
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Kabul: The press office of the Ministry of Refugees and Returnees Affairs issued a press release today (Tuesday, January 7) stating that the process of distributing land to refugees returning from other countries began yesterday in Daman district of Kandahar with the presence of members of the Commission for Addressing Refugee Problems, local officials and businessmen.
Qari Fasihuddin Fitrat, Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces of the Ministry of National Defense, called on countries that forcibly deport Afghan refugees to stop oppressing them and allow them to return to their country of their own free will.
He said: The government is obliged to provide conditions for the return of refugees so that they can live peacefully in the country.
On the other hand, Maulavi Ahmadullah Wasiq, Chairman of the National Olympic Committee, said at the ceremony: The Islamic Emirate is trying to solve the problems of refugees by using the available opportunities.
Mr. Wasiq called on international institutions to cooperate with the Islamic Emirate in implementing projects for refugees.
According to Nematullah Ulfat, Head of the Kandahar Refugees, the goal of building refugee settlements in this province is to improve the lives of refugees, economic empowerment, unity, peace, and protection of their rights.
It is worth noting that Pakistan and Iran deport hundreds of Afghan refugees to the country every day, both voluntarily and forcibly. In recent days, Pakistani police have been conducting house-to-house searches and arresting hundreds of legal and illegal immigrants, including women and children. The Islamic Emirate Embassy in Islamabad has expressed deep concern over the fate of the 800 immigrants arrested by Pakistani police.
On the other hand, the release of a clip of an Iranian citizen confronting an immigrant in Tehran has sparked a backlash on social media.
